Some pieces I have been working on since moving to Shepparton, whilst finishing my masters and having a full-time role at Shepaprton Art Museum.
Working primarily in oil painting and instant film photography, I continued my exploration of the still life genre that I had begun during the pandemic, drawing on objects traditionally associated with femininity, domesticity, and luxury—silverware, lace, pearls, perfume, and fresh-cut flowers. Arranged with deliberate sensuality and restraint, these compositions evoke both the aesthetics of refinement and the burden of social expectations historically tethered to gender roles.
Several of these post-pandemic works feature tarot cards. As tools of intuition, mysticism, and self-determination, their inclusion disrupts passivity and introduces an alternative narrative—one that speaks to agency, fate, and the unseen forces that shape identity.
