Things that shouldn’t last presents an ongoing exploration into how the narrative of a moment shifts once it has been translated into an object. I began experimenting with film photography in 2019 after a decade’s hiatus -  gravitating to instant film because of its alchemy-like ability to distill time. Where a painting reflects the contemplation of many hours – an instant film frame captures a second. Here they ruminate on on how we look back on our memories as physical objects and experience love and intimacy.

Things that shouldn’t last is supported by the Australian Government’s Arts and Cultural Development Program, Regional Arts Australia and Regional Arts Victoria.
